Noel Edmonds, 77, and his wife Liz, 56, have embraced a holistic lifestyle on their expansive 800-acre estate in rural New Zealand, where they relocated in 2019. The estate, named River Haven, features amenities including a restaurant, vineyard, pub, and a wellness center. Edmonds, best known for hosting "Deal Or No Deal" from 2005 to 2016, has largely withdrawn from the entertainment industry, though he briefly featured in a three-part ITV documentary series last year about his new life.
His unconventional lifestyle includes practices such as "Tranquil Power" exercise, cold showers, infrared saunas, and meditation. Edmonds also claims to use an electromagnetic mat, which he states helped cure his cancer, and follows an alkaline diet, avoiding red meat. He has spoken about his belief in cosmic ordering, a philosophy he detailed in his 2006 book "Positively Happy: Cosmic Ways To Change Your Life."
Edmonds recently garnered attention for a viral video showing him and his wife releasing live lobsters purchased from a shop into the sea at Peel Harbour on the Isle of Man. Edmonds explained in an Instagram video that they felt uncomfortable seeing the lobsters confined in a tank. However, the act drew criticism, as experts generally discourage releasing supermarket lobsters due to low survival rates and the potential for introducing foreign diseases or disrupting local marine ecosystems. Edmonds later posted a subdued message on Instagram following the backlash.
Edmonds has also gained notice for his distinctive fashion choices, frequently being spotted wearing mismatched shoes. This eccentricity has been noted by fans on social media, with sightings on the Isle of Man and even while dancing near a statue of the Bee Gees. He also revealed an 'energy bowl' on his estate that fills with rainwater, which he described as "positive water."
In 2023, Edmonds' £15 million estate in New Zealand reportedly caused friction with local residents, who accused him of "colonising" their village. Edmonds, who also purchased a property on the Isle of Man last year, stated that his principal home remains in New Zealand, but he intends to spend part of the year on the Isle of Man, appreciating the island's community pride. He noted that he had not visited the Isle of Man until three years prior to his purchase, despite living in the UK his entire life previously.
