The acclaimed HBO Max medical drama "The Pitt" is slated to return for its third season in January 2027. The upcoming season will explore themes of doctors becoming patients, according to star Noah Wyle.

Wyle, who portrays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, told Deadline that Season 3 will focus on the therapeutic journey of the medical staff. "We’re going to see that [Robby]’s begun the therapeutic road; it’s had a positive effect," Wyle stated. "It’s fragile, and it’s not without risk and vulnerability, but it’s at least there’s forward progress."

The series, which earned Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Wyle and Outstanding Drama Series, concluded its second season in April 2026. The renewal for a third season was announced prior to the sophomore season's premiere.

In addition to the established cast, "The Pitt" will introduce seven new recurring characters for Season 3. These new additions include Stephen Chang, Barry Clifton, Chris Diamantopoulos, Lawrence Kao, Brent Sexton, JB Tadena, and Hannah Ware.

The narrative of Season 3 will reportedly take place on November 12, 2026, the day after Veterans Day.

"The Pitt" is available for streaming on HBO Max. Subscription options include a plan with ads for $10.99 per month and an ad-free version for $18.49 per month. Bundled options with Disney+ and Hulu are also available, starting at $19.99 per month with ads.
