No Further Action Against National Security Adviser's Wife Over Palestine Action Tweet
Metropolitan Police determined Sarah Helm's social media post did not meet the criminal threshold.

No further action will be taken against Sarah Helm, the wife of the Prime Minister's national security adviser, following a social media post that appeared to support the banned protest group Palestine Action.
Helm, a journalist and author, posted on the social media platform X: "God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action." Her post was in reaction to a comment by Times Radio pundit Adam Boulton, who had accused Irish novelist Sally Rooney of antisemitism.
Rooney had previously stated that her books would no longer be sold in the UK due to her support for Palestine Action. Membership or support for the group can carry a prison sentence of up to 14 years.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed on Friday that Helm's post was under assessment. On Saturday, a spokesperson stated, "It was determined that it did not meet the criminal threshold. No further action will be taken."
The Campaign Against Antisemitism had urged the police to investigate Helm, noting that her post "raises extremely serious questions for Jonathan Powell."
Downing Street has distanced itself from Helm's remarks, with a spokesperson stating, "These views are held by an individual who does not represent the Government in any capacity."
