Authorities are searching for two 14-year-old boys who ran away from New Jersey and were last seen fleeing MTA officers at a train station in Stamford, Connecticut.

Braydon Morrisey and Dominic Dilberto, both 14, along with 17-year-old William Connolly, left an undisclosed location in Montville Township, New Jersey, late Thursday. They were reportedly seen at the Denville Train Station early Friday evening, which initiated a missing persons investigation that involved K-9 units and drones.

On Saturday, MTA police apprehended Connolly at the Stamford train station. However, Morrisey and Dilberto escaped from protective custody at the scene.

Montville Township Police Department Chief Andrew Caggiano stated that the department does not believe the missing teens are dangerous to themselves or others. "It's just because of their age, and they were listed as missing persons," Caggiano said. "We're just following a missing persons investigation."

Law enforcement officials believe the two teenagers are traveling farther away from Montville, according to Fox News.

Morrissey was last seen wearing white sneakers, dark sweatpants, and a green hoodie. Dilberto was last seen in all-black clothing.

The Montville Township Police Department is leading the investigation and is collaborating with the MTA in Connecticut. They have remained in contact with the boys' parents since they were reported missing.
