A New Jersey family, including a 24-year-old daughter, was found dead in their $1.7 million mansion after being reported missing more than 24 hours prior, authorities said. The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office stated that a caller alerted Montgomery Township Police to concerns about the family's welfare on October 1st at 2:59 p.m. The caller requested that police check on the family at their residence.

When officers arrived at the home, no one answered the door. The Montgomery Township Police initiated an investigation into the family's whereabouts. It was not until the following day, October 2nd, at approximately 5:52 p.m. that police entered the residence to conduct a welfare check.

Inside the home, officers discovered David Grodnick, 61, his wife Lora Grodnick, 62, and their daughter, Sloane Grodnick, 24. All three individuals had sustained gunshot wounds to the head. Investigators determined that Lora and Sloane Grodnick were victims of homicide, while David Grodnick's death was ruled a suicide. A firearm was found with David Grodnick at the scene.

David Grodnick was identified as a senior vice president and underwriting counsel for Land Services USA. Photographs of the family members, including images of David and Sloane together, and of Sloane and her mother, were released as part of the investigation.
