Hedge fund co-founder John Overdeck, currently involved in a New Jersey divorce case seeking a reported $6.2 billion, stated in police bodycam footage that he was dating another woman but denied they ever had sex or were naked together. The footage, recorded by Millburn police in October 2023, emerged amid the high-stakes legal battle between Overdeck and his estranged wife, Laura.

Overdeck, 56, described the woman as "a little bit of a live wire" to officers who responded to a call at the couple's Short Hills mansion. He stated that while they were in a "dating relationship," they had never been intimate. According to Overdeck, the woman had a key to his bachelor pad in Florham Park and they saw each other a few times a week. He claimed they "never had our clothes off" in each other's presence.

The woman had reportedly called police to the Overdecks' marital home, seeking to resolve unspecified issues after Overdeck canceled a dinner date with her. She told officers outside the mansion that Overdeck was using her and attempting to silence her to protect his reputation, stating she had been quiet for two years.

Laura Overdeck, who was married to the hedge fund owner for over 20 years without a prenuptial agreement, also spoke with officers at the scene. She expressed a desire for both Overdeck and the other woman to leave, stating, "I can't have this anymore. I need you guys to help." When an officer suggested the situation was "convoluted" and the pair might not be dating, she asserted she had "hotel receipts" and "pretty incriminating evidence" to the contrary. She characterized the other woman as "psycho" and insisted she wanted her to leave her children alone.

Overdeck told police the woman was upset because he chose to have dinner with his son instead of her. The woman, he recounted, said, "It's our turn together. I'm not allowing this... So if you don't care for me, then that's that. I've had it with you." Overdeck explained to officers that the woman felt he was using her because he prioritized family. One officer remarked it was "a tale as old as time," and another advised Overdeck to "break it off with her."

Laura Overdeck is reportedly seeking 35% of her husband's stake in his Two Sigma hedge fund. She previously rejected an offer from Overdeck exceeding $600 million. Overdeck is scheduled to continue his testimony in Newark court. Representatives for both Overdeck and his estranged wife declined to comment on the matter when contacted by The Post.
