Actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, known for his role in "Game of Thrones," took shelter overnight in a Kyiv metro station on Wednesday amid a threat of Russian air raids.

Coster-Waldau, who serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), was in Ukraine's capital when the air raid alerts sounded. He spent the night alongside other residents seeking safety in the metro system, which is being used as a shelter during the ongoing conflict with Russia. Photos from the event show the Danish actor, 56, resting on a cot, dressed in a blue UNDP hoodie.

He shared his experience on Instagram Stories, describing the night as "pretty rough." Coster-Waldau emphasized that while he could share his story after one night, for thousands of Ukrainians, it is a daily necessity for survival.

"We need to keep helping the civilians and uphold the rules we all agree on," he stated, posting a snapshot of the air raid alerts that were at a red level for three consecutive days from October 27 to October 29.

In a video recorded by Reuters, Coster-Waldau explained his visit was intended to raise awareness and ensure that "people don't forget there's a country in need." He added, "They're doing amazing but they need help from the international community, especially now that we're getting closer to winter."
