Nikki Glaser Defends Taylor Swift, Hypes Chiefs Dynasty in Football Promo

Nikki Glaser has stepped into the fray of online discourse surrounding Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs, appearing in a 'Sunday Night Football' promotional video that aired during the team's game against the Indianapolis Colts. The comedian, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, narrated and starred in the video, which was set to Swift's 2017 hit song, "...Ready For It?"

In the promo, Glaser addresses those critical of the Chiefs' ongoing success, stating, "People love a winner — until they win too much." She continued, "People want dynasties to die and for chaps to become chumps." Glaser also referenced the team's less successful moments and alluded to the Eagles' 'Tush Push' play, which is associated with Swift's brother-in-law, Jason Kelce, by saying, "And when that downfall finally comes, it hurts like a Tush Push you weren’t expecting."

Glaser further commented on the narrative surrounding dynasties, noting, "But without the downfall, you don’t get the thing that people love most of all: The comeback." The video also included footage of Swift cheering for her partner, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

"And it’s safe to say the world’s greatest singer-songwriter is now a permanent fixture at Arrowhead [Stadium]," Glaser declared. "And I speak for all Swifties when I say, we want more cutaways."

For the video, Glaser donned a glittery red Chiefs jersey. However, instead of Kelce's name, the back of the jersey read "TAYLOR'S HUSBAND" above his number 87. She concluded the promo by rallying for Kansas City: "So here we go, Kansas City. Tonight we take on the Colts. Before you know it, we’ll be back on top, and then the rest of you can go back to hating us all over again."

Swift was in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs' game against the Indianapolis Colts. She was seen in a VIP suite with her parents, Scott Swift and Andrea Swift, and Travis Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce. During the game, Swift was observed wearing a Chiefs tank top and exclaimed "My husband!" when Kelce scored a touchdown.

Glaser, who has previously spoken about attending Swift and Kelce's wedding, reflected on the experience during her Las Vegas residency. She described it as a "wild" and "best night of my life as a Swiftie," but lamented the inability to share photographic evidence due to phone restrictions at the event.
