Nigella Lawson Reveals Unexpected Beauty Secret for Voluminous Lashes

Celebrity chef Nigella Lawson has revealed an unexpected item from her bathroom cupboard that she uses to achieve voluminous, youthful-looking lashes: interdental brushes, typically used for flossing and costing around £3.50.

Lawson, 66, shared in a recent interview that she applies mascara to her lower lashes using these small brushes to prevent smearing and smudging, while also enhancing volume and length. She explained her technique to The Sunday Times: "I dab the flossing brush delicately on the mascara applicator, which is anyway less loaded once I’ve done my top lashes, then just lightly touch my lower lashes with it."

In addition to this unusual technique, Lawson also favors the Too Faced Ribbon Wrapped Lash Mascara, which she described as her go-to product for achieving "bold, fluttery length." This mascara is available at various beauty retailers, including Boots and Amazon, and has been observed on sale from £28 down to £22.40.

Lawson has also previously disclosed another beauty secret for her complexion. In 2019, she wrote in her Sunday Times style column that she uses prickly pear seed oil, specifically Garden of Wisdom's 100% prickly pear seed oil, which she referred to as containing "face-saving magic." She recommended it for its ability to make skin appear as if one has had extensive rest and relaxation, noting that it improved and moisturized her skin, making it feel more elastic. Lawson also applies the oil to her hands, cuticles, and elbows. While her exact product may not be available, other prickly pear oils are on the market for those interested in trying its purported benefits.
