Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi Declares Herself Cancer-Free

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, known for her role in the reality series "Jersey Shore," has announced she is cancer-free seven months after being diagnosed with Stage 1 cervical cancer. Polizzi shared the positive update on Friday, stating she feels she is “on the other side” following a successful hysterectomy in July.

"As of right now, I am cancer-free," Polizzi told People magazine. "They got everything out. So I’m definitely happy that I did it."

The reality television personality admitted that she had avoided regular pap smears for an extended period before her diagnosis. "And once I finally went to the doctors, I feel like it’s just been week after week of doing a procedure, then another procedure, and then a hysterectomy," she said. "So it’s been a journey and a long road, but I’m happy that I’m on the other side of it and everything is going good."

Polizzi is still in the recovery process and is focusing on listening to her body and avoiding overexertion. "There’s days where I do too much and then I just feel exhausted and I start getting pains," she shared. "But other than that, I’m finally starting to feel better. I feel like I’m almost getting back to myself."

While she is cancer-free, Polizzi's doctors have advised continued monitoring due to a potential risk of recurrence. She will undergo routine pap smears every three months.

The experience has led Polizzi to make significant lifestyle changes. "Getting a cancer diagnosis is very terrifying and scary. So, I just want my body to be as healthy as it can be," she explained. "I feel like I’m eating better, working out, obviously staying on top of my appointments. I’m just not avoiding anything and just trying to be the best version of myself."

Polizzi first went public with her diagnosis in February. At the time, she described the news as "very terrifying and scary" but also noted that her cancer was caught early. In April, she revealed her plan to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure she found daunting.

"I’m not great with pain, so thinking about removing an organ is scary," she told People. "That’s a part of being a woman and even though I’m done having kids, the thought of not being able to really upset me."

Polizzi and her husband, Jionni LaValle, are parents to three children: Lorenzo Dominic, 13, Giovanna Marie, 11, and Angelo James, 6.

Throughout her health journey, Polizzi has emphasized the importance of regular screenings, noting that she had experienced abnormal pap smears for three to four years prior to her diagnosis but had not addressed them. "Obviously not the news I was hoping for, but also not the worst news, just because they caught it so early. Thank freaking god," she previously told her TikTok followers.
