Nicolas Cage Appears With New Gray Hair and Beard
The actor debuted a significantly different look at a Los Angeles event alongside his wife, Riko Shibata.
Nicolas Cage, 62, presented a striking new appearance with full gray hair and a matching beard at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Opening Night in Los Angeles on Saturday. He attended the event with his wife, Riko Shibata, 31.
Cage wore a blue tuxedo jacket with satin lapels, a white dress shirt, black trousers, and sunglasses. Shibata was dressed in cream-colored trousers, a white top, and a white coat with sheer sleeves.
The couple, who met in Japan while Cage was filming his 2021 movie "Prisoners Of The Ghostland," married in Las Vegas in 2021. They welcomed a daughter, August, the following year.
Cage recently starred in the superhero series "Spider-Noir" on Amazon Prime Video, portraying Ben Reilly, a private investigator in 1930s New York. The show premiered on May 25 and received positive reviews, with Cage's performance being particularly praised. "Spider-Noir" garnered 11 Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won five, including Outstanding Cinematography for a Series (One Hour).
However, Amazon Prime Video announced this month that the series would not be renewed for a second season. Cage commented on the cancellation to Deadline, stating, "For me, one season is perfect, having said what I wanted to say with this dangerous, innovative, pop-art Spider-Man. Onwards, upwards, inwards."
Cage had previously expressed reservations about television work, telling Variety that he was initially against it due to a desire to avoid overly "homogenized" content. His perspective shifted after watching "Breaking Bad," which demonstrated the potential for deeper character development over longer narratives. He also drew inspiration from Hollywood icons like Humphrey Bogart for his portrayal in "Spider-Noir."
Cage has several upcoming projects, including the World War II spy thriller "Fortitude."
