Nicki Minaj Urges Young Voters to 'Vote Red' in Midterms, Reiterates Trump Support

Rapper Nicki Minaj has encouraged young Americans to participate in the upcoming midterm elections and to "vote red," while also reaffirming her support for President Donald Trump. In an interview on "My View with Lara Trump" that aired Saturday, Minaj emphasized the importance of young voters making their voices heard.

"Your voice will not only be heard, but your voice is very necessary right now for the country and for the world," Minaj stated. "We need you guys involved more than ever before. This is your country, this is your world. You are the ones that have to reap the benefits of whatever vote decisions we make now."

Minaj advised young voters to become active in their communities and participate in all elections, not just presidential contests. "Think about how much you want a say in what happens and realize that the only way to have that is by voting — not just voting for the president, but just voting in all of the local elections," she said.

The music superstar explicitly urged support for Republican candidates in the upcoming elections. "Please, and vote red now," Minaj added.

Minaj's comments come as she has become more vocal about her support for Trump. She recently participated as a celebrity judge for the Small Business Administration’s Million Dollar Pitch Competition. Trump has previously described Minaj as a "fantastic person."

During the interview, Minaj characterized Trump as an "authentic person" whose candid speaking style is appealing. "He brings this candid, unedited vibe to the White House that we’ve never before seen," Minaj said. "And it’s refreshing because for a very long time, people started feeling like we don’t know who we can trust." She added that when a politician speaks off-script, it makes people "feel alive."

Minaj asserted her commitment to supporting Trump, stating, "I’ve made it my mission to be someone that supports him."

Responding to Lara Trump's question about her political views and any discouragement from the Democratic party, Minaj suggested that Democrats have become overly involved with pop culture, leading to "petty and childish" behavior. "I think that they’ve allowed their relationships with artists to cause them to act like children and to be so petty and childish," she said.

Minaj also reflected on her personal journey, highlighting her rise from humble beginnings in the US to building her music career. "My fan base, they got to see me come from absolutely nothing. They really saw the struggle in real time," she said. "Overall, yes, it has been the American dream. That’s why I love this country."
