Nicholas Rossi, a 38-year-old American convicted of rape who fled to Scotland in an attempt to evade justice, has died in a U.S. hospital. The Utah Department of Corrections confirmed Rossi's death, stating he had been suffering from chronic, degenerative conditions.

Rossi was found guilty of raping two women in Utah in separate trials held in 2024. The convictions stemmed from incidents that occurred in 2008. He was subsequently ordered to serve two consecutive sentences, each ranging from five years to life imprisonment.

In 2021, Rossi absconded to Scotland, seeking to avoid legal consequences. He was apprehended in a Glasgow hospital's COVID-19 ward.
