NFL Week 3 Delivers Shocks and Thrills as Broncos Edge Rams, Seahawks Stumble

The National Football League witnessed another action-packed Sunday, marked by a significant upset against the defending champions and numerous nail-biting finishes. Twelve out of fourteen games were decided by eight points or fewer, tying an NFL record for single-day contests with close margins.

Broncos Outlast Rams in Dramatic Showdown

The Denver Broncos secured a thrilling 30-26 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, a game that saw multiple lead changes in its final minutes. The Rams held a commanding 16-0 lead at halftime, but the Broncos mounted a significant comeback. The pivotal moment came when Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga intercepted a pass and returned it 66 yards for a touchdown, giving Denver the lead. However, Rams quarterback Matt Stafford quickly responded with a touchdown pass to Konata Mumpfield. The Broncos ultimately sealed the win with a late touchdown drive, and Hufanga's second interception of the game in the final seconds preserved the victory.

Seahawks Fall to Commanders in Close Contest

The Washington Commanders handed the Seattle Seahawks, last season's Super Bowl champions, a 33-31 defeat. Despite missing their starting quarterback, the Commanders built a substantial lead. The Seahawks managed to tie the game in the fourth quarter, but a crucial interception returned for a touchdown by Washington linebacker Kain Medrano proved to be the deciding score. This loss halted Seattle's 12-game winning streak.

International Games Continue

The NFL also hosted games internationally, including a notable matchup in Rio de Janeiro between the Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys. The Ravens emerged victorious with a 34-31 win, clinched by a last-second field goal from Tyler Loop after Lamar Jackson connected on a crucial deep pass. This victory contributes to all four AFC North teams holding a 2-1 record.
