Former Detroit Lions defensive back Terrion Arnold is attracting interest from multiple NFL teams while awaiting trial for an alleged kidnapping and robbery plot. Arnold underwent a physical with the Houston Texans on Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Beyond the Texans, the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, and Seattle Seahawks are also reportedly monitoring Arnold's situation. His agent, Nicole Lynn, has indicated a strong possibility of him signing with a team within the next 45 days.
Arnold was released by the Lions on the same day a judge set his bail at $1 million, with the condition that he could practice and play for a team while his legal proceedings continue. He cleared waivers on Monday and has been ordered to remain in Tallahassee, Florida, except for team-related activities, and has surrendered his passport. A request from prosecutors for an ankle monitor was denied, as Arnold's attorneys argued it would prevent him from playing football.
The 2024 first-round draft pick is accused of masterminding a plot that led to three individuals being held at gunpoint, pistol-whipped, and robbed. Prosecutors allege Arnold instructed a co-defendant to lure the victims to an apartment, where others were waiting with firearms. According to court documents, the assaults were allegedly livestreamed and shared with Arnold and other co-defendants as they traveled to the location.
Co-defendants Arianna Del Valle and Jasmine Randazzo have admitted their roles in the scheme. Randazzo has already received a four-year prison sentence. Both have identified Arnold as the "primary conspirator" in the incident. Arnold has denied his involvement through his agency.
The case stems from a February incident where over $250,000 worth of personal property was reported stolen from an Airbnb rental. Three days later, three men in their late teens were assaulted and robbed at a Tampa apartment. Investigators claim the victims had no connection to the theft.
Arnold played 24 games, with 22 starts, during his two seasons with the Lions, recording one interception and 18 pass deflections.
