NFL Reviews Referee's Heated Exchange with Vikings Player After Collision
Referee Adrian Hill reportedly faces league review after yelling at Eric Wilson following an on-field collision.
The NFL is investigating an incident where referee Adrian Hill appeared to have a heated confrontation with Minnesota Vikings player Eric Wilson. The exchange occurred in the first half of the Vikings' game against the Dolphins on Sunday.
During the game, Wilson, while attempting to pressure Miami quarterback Malik Willis, inadvertently collided with Hill. The veteran referee was knocked to the ground as a result of the impact. Wilson reportedly attempted to assist the fallen official.
However, according to ESPN, Hill quickly rose and began shouting at Wilson, with his face close to the player's. Another official intervened to separate the two and pull Wilson away from the situation.
This incident follows another notable interaction on Sunday where Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride was on the receiving end of profanity from line judge Jeff Seeman. Cameras captured Seeman appearing to tell McBride "f*** you" multiple times after the player objected to a non-call during the fourth quarter of the Cardinals' game against the New York Giants. McBride seemed to acknowledge the televised exchange by pointing to a sideline camera.
