The NFL is reviewing San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York under its personal conduct policy following his arrest in Ohio on suspicion of engaging in prostitution.

"We are aware of the matter which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy," NFL communications Brian McCarthy stated on behalf of the league. The NFL's policy applies to all league personnel, not solely players, meaning York could face disciplinary action.

According to court documents, York allegedly attempted to pay a woman $140 for sex after responding to an advertisement on a known prostitution website in Columbiana County, Ohio. A Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent apprehended York at a trailer park in East Palestine, Ohio, where he was found with the device used to arrange the transaction.

York was booked into county jail on charges of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. On Monday, he entered into a plea deal with prosecutors, pleading no contest to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct and one count of possessing criminal tools.

The San Francisco 49ers organization released a statement regarding the arrest, stating, "As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time."
