NFL Referee Under Review for Sideline Conduct
An official's interaction with a player after a collision is being examined by the league.
NFL referee Adrian Hill is under league review following an incident during the Week 4 game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Miami Dolphins. The situation arose after Hill was knocked down by Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson.
Video footage appears to show Hill becoming agitated and shouting at Wilson after the collision. However, the NFL is also examining evidence that suggests Wilson was pushed into the official from behind by a Dolphins player and was attempting to help Hill up when the interaction occurred.
Hill, who has been an NFL official since 2010 and a referee since 2019, is being evaluated for his conduct. The league has confirmed the review with OutKick.
This incident drew significant attention online, with some critics, including former NFL offensive coordinator Scott Turner and agent Peter Shaffer, voicing criticism of officials' perceived arrogance and behavior. Another incident from the same week, involving line judge Jeff Seeman and Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride, is also under league review.
These events have highlighted scrutiny on NFL officials and their interactions with players during games.
