NFL Player's Wife Admits to 'WAG Rage' Over Husband's Online Criticism
Allie Neuzil revealed her habit of seeking out negative comments about her husband, Atlanta Falcons center Ryan Neuzil, on social media.
Allie Neuzil, wife of Atlanta Falcons center Ryan Neuzil, has publicly shared her struggle with what she calls "WAG rage," a phenomenon stemming from negative online comments about her husband. In a recent TikTok video, Neuzil confessed to regularly checking Twitter for criticism directed at Ryan, who joined the Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2021.
"I have a confession to make as a WAG, and that is that every game day I will get on Twitter and search my husband’s name and see what dumbass, idiot, worthless, stupid piece of s–t, unrespectable, fat, ugly, dumb losers are tweeting negatively about him," Neuzil stated in the video. She elaborated that while she refrains from responding, she often drafts "evil responses" in her mind.
Neuzil added, "I want to know, is this normal? Probably not. But, I said what I said." Her accompanying caption on the video declared, "No bc if ur ever unkind to my husband I will make it my mission to destroy you idgaf."
Other partners of athletes shared their experiences in the comments. Influencer Allison Kuch, married to former NFL player Isaac Rochell, commented, "Ahhh the good old days." Rachel Gomber, wife of MLB pitcher Austin Gomber, admitted to occasionally responding to particularly harsh comments, a sentiment Neuzil echoed, stating she can't help herself if she knows it will "really ruin their day."
The confession comes after the Falcons' overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football. Ryan Neuzil played every snap in the game and recovered a fumble in the closing seconds of regulation. The Falcons are set to host the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
