The National Football League is investigating Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman following his arrest on June 3. The league is reviewing the incident under its personal conduct policy.

Chief NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed the league's review, stating the club has been in contact with the NFL. If a violation of the personal conduct policy is found, Bateman could face an unpaid suspension of six games.

Bateman, 26, was arrested in Walton County, Georgia. According to court records obtained by TMZ, authorities allege that Bateman smashed the windshield and driver's side window of a vehicle belonging to the alleged victim. The couple's 3-month-old child was reportedly in the car at the time, and the mother sustained cuts to her face from broken glass.

Bateman faces charges including family violence battery, reckless conduct, and felony criminal damage to property in the first degree. He surrendered to the Walton County Sheriff on the day of the incident.

The Baltimore Ravens released a statement acknowledging awareness of the situation and their communication with Bateman. "We notified the league office and have been cooperating throughout the process," the team said. "As this is a pending legal matter, we will not have further comment."

Attorneys for Bateman, including Jordan Siev, stated that the situation has been "taken completely out of context for sensational reasons" and that they will allow the court process to unfold. "The facts will come out at that time," the statement added.

Bateman was absent from the Ravens' voluntary offseason workouts in May and June due to "some personal things," according to Ravens defensive coordinator Declan Doyle. It remains unclear if this absence was directly related to the arrest.

Since being drafted by the Ravens with the 27th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Bateman has experienced multiple injuries. He has played in just 64 games over his career, recording 2,147 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.
