Newlywed Dies Three Days After Las Vegas Wedding
A South Dakota couple's wedding celebration in Las Vegas took a tragic turn when the groom died just three days after their ceremony.
Tammy Bishop and Will Mulroy, from South Dakota, were married on October 20 at the Viva Las Vegas Chapel. Their wedding celebration included a party bus tour of the Las Vegas Strip.
The couple met in 2023 and began their relationship in March 2024. A week after they started dating, Mulroy was involved in a motorcycle crash that left him paralyzed and using a wheelchair.
Shortly after their wedding, while en route home, Mulroy experienced significant pain and suggested they go to the emergency room upon their return. The following morning, Bishop was unable to wake her husband and called 911.
At the hospital, Mulroy was declared brain dead, according to Bishop. He remained on life support for 24 hours, during which his heart stopped three times.
"This morning - Will stopped breathing - and was taken by ambulance to Sanford Hospital," Bishop shared in a social media post. She expressed her confusion and grief, telling Fox 5, "It just doesn’t make sense. When we started dating, that’s when the accident happened, then we got married, and it’s hard."
Bishop also shared that Mulroy lost his wedding ring during their trip to Las Vegas. While at a bar, he noticed his ring was missing and became distressed. Bishop mentioned the ring had been too large for his finger due to recent weight loss.
Despite searching for the ring before their departure, the couple could not find it. Bishop hopes that someone will find the ring and return it to her.
"Now that I don’t have him, the rings were blessed, and that was our wedding ring, and that was him and how much it meant to him. That’s why it means so much to me," she told Fox 5.
Reflecting on her loss, Bishop stated on social media, "I’m going to have to continue the next chapter without my Will. I’m not sure right now - how I’m supposed to process and navigate. I know that God is with me. I don’t understand the ‘why’ - but I do know I have to live by faith."
