New York Woman Found Dead in Home, Husband Questioned

A 24-year-old woman, identified as Tania Morales, was found deceased in her Queens home on Monday evening, authorities and sources reported. Police discovered Morales unconscious with trauma to her head and a cut on her wrist inside her residence on Park Drive East in Kew Gardens Hills around 8:30 p.m.

Morales was transported to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead. Her 22-year-old husband is reportedly being questioned by investigators. Law enforcement sources indicated that the husband claimed Morales had been cheating on him.

According to sources, the husband told his mother that Morales had attempted to stab him before he struck her with a pole. The husband's mother then arrived at the scene and contacted 911. As of Tuesday afternoon, police were continuing to speak with the husband, who had not been formally identified or charged.

This incident follows another suspected domestic homicide in Queens. Seraphina Pereira, 35, was found dead in a shallow grave in the Rockaways on Saturday. Her boyfriend, Rogelio Lozano-Garita, 26, has been charged with fatally shooting her and concealing her body.
