A Long Island man has been arrested and faces federal charges for allegedly posting online videos that contained threats of violence against US Attorney Jeanine Pirro and suggested a potential threat against former President Trump. Daniel Kretsinger, of Hauppauge, New York, was taken into custody after allegedly making the threats in two videos posted to the social media platform X on June 30.
According to a criminal complaint filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, Kretsinger appeared enraged in one video and directly addressed Pirro, stating, “I’m specifically targeting you when I come to Washington, D.C., and put a bullet directly between your eyes c–t.” In a second video posted minutes later, he allegedly reiterated the threat, saying, “I’m gonna come to DC very f—kin soon sweetheart and I’m gonna put a bullet in your f–kin head.” The complaint also noted that Kretsinger stated, “And if Trump keeps up his bulls–t I may kill the president too.”
Law enforcement interviewed Kretsinger on July 9, during which he reportedly acknowledged that the X account used to post the videos was his. He also allegedly admitted to having previously traveled to Washington, D.C., and Florida in an effort to locate Pirro. An arrest warrant for Kretsinger was subsequently issued on August 7.
Kretsinger is charged with transmitting a threat to injure a person across state lines, a federal offense that carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. A spokesperson for Pirro's office commended the United States Marshals Service for their swift action, stating that no public officials should be threatened or targeted for violence. Representatives for Kretsinger and the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
