New York City has been ranked the most romantic city in the United States, according to new data analyzed by the dating app Agilis. The study examined Google searches across 30 major U.S. cities, focusing on 28 terms related to romance and relationships, and adjusted the findings based on population.

Despite a reputation for being a challenging place for singles, New York City generated over 212 romance-related searches per 100,000 residents. These searches encompassed a wide range of romantic interests, from "romantic getaways" and "date night ideas" to "proposal locations" and "anniversary ideas."

Jehan Rajendra, founder of Agilis, noted the city's diverse offerings as a factor in its high ranking. "New York taking the top spot makes sense when you consider the sheer variety of experiences available to couples," Rajendra stated. "From Central Park walks and rooftop dinners to Broadway shows and countless restaurants, there are plenty of ways to plan a memorable date."

The data also revealed that "wedding venues" was a leading search term among New Yorkers, indicating a strong desire among residents to get married, though the city is also noted as an expensive location for such events.
