New Secret Recording Surfaces in Sydney Swans Sexual Assault Investigation

Victoria Police have received a second secret recording related to allegations of sexual assault against Sydney Swans players at the Pullman East Melbourne hotel on August 17. The 20-minute recording details events that occurred inside a hotel room during post-match celebrations, according to a report by the Herald Sun.

Three adult entertainers have alleged they were sexually assaulted by players during the event. The players involved—Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, James Jordon, and Riley Bice—have reportedly denied any wrongdoing. Victoria Police are treating Bice as a witness, while no charges have been laid against any player.

The first secret recording was reportedly taken by an individual associated with one of the women featured in the second recording. This initial recording was seized by police in early September. The AFL's integrity unit was informed of the existence of the first recording by Swans officials and subsequently shared details with the police. It is understood that the Swans and the AFL were unaware of the second recording.

Sources close to the women have suggested they may seek compensation for mental distress. Two of the women have reportedly undergone psychological assessments and have been diagnosed with severe trauma-related disorders, with one medical report exceeding 40 pages. "These women are suffering severe stress and trauma. They are not in good shape," an anonymous source told The Age.

The five players, referred to as the "Pullman Five," were suspended by the Swans for breaching team rules regarding drinking and partying. This suspension is separate from the ongoing sexual assault investigation. One allegation reportedly involves a player slapping one of the entertainers on the bottom more times than agreed upon.

Victoria Police are compiling a brief of evidence for the Director of Public Prosecutions, who will decide whether to lay charges. This decision is anticipated later this month or in early November.
