A new note sent to TMZ alleges that the sender possesses a video and photographs of the individuals involved in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of "Today" show anchor Savannah Guthrie. The sender claims the video shows one of the "main" alleged kidnappers with the 84-year-old on what was likely her final day.
The note, reportedly from the same source who previously demanded one bitcoin for information, states the sender has a phone stashed in a secure location containing this evidence. According to TMZ, the note also mentions that the phone contains pictures of both individuals involved, along with their names, addresses, and ages.
The sender described the phone's location as "easy to access if you know where it is" and reiterated the demand for one bitcoin in exchange for the password.
This development comes as the investigation into Guthrie's disappearance continues without any arrests or new leads. Authorities believe she was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona, home on February 1. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has not immediately responded to requests for comment.
TMZ has alerted the FBI to the new note. The circumstances surrounding Nancy Guthrie's disappearance remain unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
