The debut episode of FOX News Podcasts' "the Girls" featured a wide-ranging discussion that included the recent mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy case and the political activism of children's entertainer Ms. Rachel.

The podcast, which launched Thursday, features a rotating cast of women from diverse backgrounds in news, politics, sports, comedy, and culture. The inaugural episode included Fox News' Harris Faulkner, Rachel Campos-Duffy, and Kat Timpf, former Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa, and former ESPN host Samantha Ponder.

Samantha Ponder shared a strong opinion on the Lindsay Clancy case, in which Clancy was charged with murdering her three young children. The trial ended in a mistrial last month. "If I’m a mom and this has been done to my kids, I want this woman put away forever," Ponder stated. "You can say things were hard, [but] you still gotta be in prison."

The hosts also debated whether children's entertainer Ms. Rachel, known for her popular YouTube channel, is a negative influence due to her political stances. Kat Timpf defended Ms. Rachel, arguing that her content is primarily focused on songs and that listeners shouldn't conflate entertainers' personal views with their professional work. "She just sings songs... I still listen to Michael Jackson. Where do you draw the line? I grew up listening to Nirvana. I love Kurt Cobain. I wore flannel. I've yet to shoot up heroin," Timpf said.

Harris Faulkner, however, raised concerns about parents being aware of the political views espoused by children's entertainers. "When she says she wants to do away with ICE, when she says that she’s more for letting those people come across our border illegally, when she says those things — why do I know that about her?" Faulkner questioned.

The episode also delved into personal territory, with Kat Timpf discussing the death of her father shortly before she became pregnant with her second child. She shared the unexpected nature of his death from an aortic dissection, despite his focus on health. Timpf reflected on how his passing, and her mother's earlier death before age 60, led her to grapple with questions of control over one's fate and health.

"The Girls" is available on Fox News Digital, Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and other podcast platforms.
