A domestic incident in Las Cruces, New Mexico, resulted in the deaths of two adults and left five children unharmed but present during the violence. Police responded to a residence around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2026, and discovered the bodies of Angelica Aguirre, 30, and Shane Perez, 46.

Authorities have classified the event as a murder-suicide, concluding that Perez shot Aguirre before taking his own life. The couple's five children, ranging in age from 3 to 14, were inside the home at the time of the incident but did not sustain physical injuries. The motive behind the violence remains under investigation.

Social media posts from Aguirre depicted a seemingly stable family life, including photos of outings and expressions of gratitude toward Perez. In November of the previous year, she shared a message thanking Perez for his contributions to the family.
