Investigators responded to the couple's home on June 6 after receiving a 911 call, leading to the discovery of Brooke Hanlon, 35, who was fatally stabbed. The Morris County prosecutor's office has ruled her death a homicide due to multiple sharp force injuries.
A neighbor told Fox News Digital that he last communicated with James "Conor" Hanlon, Brooke's husband, via text on June 2, discussing local bear activity. The neighbor stated that Hanlon had previously texted him when bears were in the area. Following the police activity at the Hanlon residence on June 6, the neighbor texted Conor expressing concern and offering assistance, but received no response.
Brooke Hanlon's sister, Paige Haggerty, has spoken about the loss of her sister, focusing on preserving Brooke's memory. She has remained reserved regarding her brother-in-law.
Records indicate that Conor Hanlon, 36, has no prior arrests or criminal history and has not been accused of any wrongdoing. Authorities have not yet identified any suspects or persons of interest in the case.
A white SUV, observed at the Hanlon residence before and after the homicide, was reportedly spotted in Boston, Massachusetts, on Tuesday.
Haggerty confirmed that the couple's baby is staying with family, but provided no further details about the child or the circumstances surrounding the discovery of Brooke Hanlon's death, including who made the 911 call or who was present in the home at the time.
A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information related to the case. Fox News Digital's attempts to reach Conor Hanlon were unsuccessful, and it is unclear if he has retained legal counsel.
