A 20-year-old New Jersey woman died in Florida after falling from historic ruins on Egmont Key, a remote island in Tampa Bay, according to friends.

Victoria Zardoya was visiting Fort Dade, a historic site on the island, with a group of friends on Friday when the incident occurred. Egmont Key is only accessible by boat.

Zardoya was a close friend of Milania Guidice, daughter of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice. The Guidice family has reportedly shared tributes on social media.

Victoria Silberbusch, who identified herself as a friend of Zardoya, recounted the events on social media, stating that the fall happened while the group was touring the ruins. Silberbusch described Zardoya's injuries as "brutal" and noted that those present immediately attempted to assist her.

After the group called 911 and used flares, paramedics arrived by boat. A medical helicopter transported Zardoya to a nearby hospital, where she reportedly died from her injuries two days later. Silberbusch added that Zardoya "was never alone" and that everyone present "did everything within their power to help her."

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office logs indicate a response to an incident on Egmont Key on Friday evening, with the event cleared by 11:16 p.m. the same day. Fox News Digital has requested the official incident report.

Fort Dade is a popular destination for boaters visiting Egmont Key.
