CHESTER, N.J. – Nearly seven weeks after therapist Brooke Hanlon was found fatally stabbed in her Chester home, residents near the Pottersville Road property remain on edge, reporting increased vigilance and anxiety due to the ongoing lack of information from investigators.
Brooke Hanlon, 35, was discovered unresponsive and bleeding in her second-floor residence on June 6. Her husband, Conor Hanlon, made a frantic 911 call from the home, audio of which has since been released. As of Tuesday, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, the lead investigative agency, had not announced any suspects, persons of interest, or arrests in the case. A $1,000 reward is offered for information leading to a resolution.
Neighbors have expressed growing unease, with some reporting heightened sensitivity to everyday sounds. "Things that never would've bothered me before catch my attention," one neighbor told Fox News Digital. The lack of transparency from law enforcement has contributed to this uncertainty. "Nothing has really been released beyond what came out on the first day. They say there's no danger to the public, but it's hard to completely believe that when we don't know anything else."
Adding to the community's disquiet, a white Volvo SUV, believed to belong to Conor Hanlon, was observed parked at the Hanlon residence for over four hours last week. Neighbors reported observing what appeared to be the same vehicle in Boston days prior. Conor Hanlon grew up in the Boston area and has family there.
When the SUV was spotted, one neighbor contacted the non-emergency police line, stating his wife "wasn't really feeling pretty good about it." This sighting heightened concerns, particularly for residents like one who owns a firearm and feels prepared to defend his family should the need arise, despite assurances from authorities that the public is not in danger.
Brooke Hanlon leaves behind a 12-month-old child. Both the Chester Township Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office declined to comment on the active investigation. Fox News Digital has repeatedly attempted to reach Conor Hanlon, who has not made a public statement regarding his wife's homicide investigation. The investigation into Brooke Hanlon's death is ongoing.
