Victoria Anne Cranmer, 25, a New Jersey babysitter accused of sexually assaulting a toddler and sharing the video online, appeared in court Monday. Prosecutors revealed a potential plea agreement that could lead to a substantially reduced prison sentence.

Under the proposed agreement, Cranmer would plead guilty to second-degree sex assault. Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Lynn Juan stated that prosecutors would recommend a three-year prison sentence if the plea is accepted. This contrasts with the current charges, which include second-degree sexual assault, child sex abuse material manufacturing and possession, and child endangerment. These charges carry a maximum combined sentence of 30 years.

As part of the potential deal, Cranmer would be required to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law, undergo lifetime parole supervision, and adhere to a no-contact order with the victim. Cranmer's attorney, Connor Kane, acknowledged awareness of the offer but indicated he had not yet discussed it with his client and anticipates making a counter-offer.

Prosecutors allege that Cranmer sexually assaulted an infant, recorded the act, and posted the material on Snapchat. Cranmer appeared in court wearing pink handcuffs and looking defiant towards reporters. She is scheduled to return to court on September 14.
