New Hampshire Journalist Claims He Was Denied Entry to Kamala Harris Event
Reporter Leonard Robinson alleges he was blocked from an event in the Granite State, despite having RSVP'd.
A New Hampshire journalist said he was denied entry to a political event on Saturday featuring former Vice President Kamala Harris. Leonard Robinson, a reporter for the center-right outlet New Hampshire Journal, claims he was blocked from the event, despite having RSVP'd.
Robinson stated in an interview that the reception he typically receives at Democratic events has been positive, making this situation particularly disappointing. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that the New Hampshire Democratic Party often makes access difficult for his publication, citing instances of being physically blocked by operatives and having event locations hidden. He added that "Nothing compares to Harris's visit."
Harris was campaigning in New Hampshire for Democratic Senate candidate Chris Pappas.
Robinson reported that he had RSVP'd to an event hosted by Reproductive Freedom for All (RFA), an organization whose form was sent to him by the Pappas campaign. He had previously been unable to attend another Harris event due to capacity limitations.
Upon arrival, Robinson stated an RFA representative informed him he was not on the registration list and that the event was at full capacity. He also noted that another journalist, not on the list, was later allowed entry. Robinson further claimed he observed a Pappas campaign staffer making a "no" gesture to the RFA representative from a distance.
Robinson mentioned attending other Pappas campaign events featuring prominent Democrats, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna, and U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock, without issue.
"Why are [New Hampshire Democrats] afraid for her to talk to me? I think that's the real question that's gotta be answered here," Robinson said.
New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Raymond Buckley criticized the New Hampshire Journal, calling it "a partisan right wing site created to smear Democrats" and stating that it "has rarely, if ever, received credentials to any Democratic or progressive event." He made this statement in response to Robinson's post on X.
Michael Graham, managing editor of New Hampshire Journal, defended Robinson, expressing dismay that a reporter from an "award-winning member of the New Hampshire Press Association" would be excluded from an event.
Representatives for Harris and the New Hampshire Democratic Party did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital. A spokesperson for the Pappas campaign declined to comment.
Harris has been active in campaigning for Democratic candidates ahead of the midterm elections, with her appearances occurring as she reportedly considers a potential 2028 presidential bid.
