New surveillance footage presented in court shows a man on a rooftop near the scene where conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed. The preliminary hearing is underway to determine if Tyler Robinson, the man accused of the murder, will stand trial.
According to testimony, the footage depicts Robinson's vehicle entering a campus parking garage. A man, later identified as potentially being Robinson, was seen walking across campus in a maroon shirt, Converse shoes, and grey or olive shorts. This individual was later observed purchasing food from Chick-fil-A and entering a wooded area near the university. Approximately 90 minutes before the shooting, the man reappeared on campus, wearing different clothing and appearing to walk with a limp, a witness testified.
The video then shows the suspect proceeding to the Losee Building on campus and climbing onto the rooftop via a railing. Shortly after the fatal shot was fired, the same man is seen running across the roof, descending with an object in his hands, and leaving the campus. A rifle was later discovered in the wooded area where the man was believed to have entered.
Authorities also noted that an officer encountered Robinson near campus in the early hours of September 11, the same day a manhunt for Kirk's killer was in progress, and recorded his license plate.
