A new cleansing shower oil priced at £29 is being reviewed for its ability to hydrate and soothe skin, with claims of being suitable for eczema-prone complexions. The product is designed as a multi-purpose wash, intended for use on the body, face, and hair.
A panel of five individuals, including beauty experts and consumers with dry or sensitive skin, tested the product. Emma Gunavardhana, a beauty expert, noted its potential for those with dryness, sensitivity, and eczema. Sandra Rhodes, a retired teacher, reported that her very dry skin felt clean yet hydrated, without tightness or itching.
Ease of use was generally rated highly, though some noted the labeling was difficult to read. Denise Flint, a retired office manager, commented that the product lathers well. Valerie Tomalin, a theatre and TV entrepreneur, found it easy to dispense and effective as a shampoo.
However, not all aspects received universal praise. Lindsay Frankel, YOU's deputy editor, experienced the product leaving her hair feeling like an "oil slick," requiring a second wash. Sandra Rhodes mentioned it had to be lathered quickly to prevent it from slipping away, and Denise Flint described it as "a little on the runny side."
Despite the £29 price point, the panel concluded that the body wash left testers' skin hydrated and soothed, with most appreciating its multi-purpose application. The product is part of a curated beauty box offered by YOU Magazine, featuring seven luxury skincare items valued at over £188.
