New Biography Details Tom Brady's Early Relationship Challenges

The author of a new biography on Tom Brady has offered a new perspective on the former quarterback's relationships with Bridget Moynahan and Gisele Bündchen, particularly concerning the timeline of events surrounding Moynahan's pregnancy.

Lars Anderson, author of "Brady: An American Story and the Price of Greatness," told Us Weekly that the timing of Brady's breakup with Moynahan and his subsequent relationship with Bündchen "barely works in Tom's favor."

Brady and Moynahan dated for nearly three years before ending their relationship in December 2006. Three months later, in February 2007, Brady learned that Moynahan was pregnant with his child. At that time, Brady had already been dating Bündchen for two months, having met her in December 2006.

Anderson's book notes that Moynahan's estimated conception date would have been in late November 2006, just two weeks prior to Brady's first date with Bündchen. The book describes Moynahan as being "heartbroken" by the split. The news of the pregnancy reached Brady while he was vacationing in Paris with Bündchen.

This period led to significant media attention, turning a private situation into a public spectacle. According to Anderson, Bündchen was initially uncertain about how to handle the news and reportedly considered whether Brady should raise a family with Moynahan. Ultimately, she chose to remain with Brady as he prepared to become a father.

Moynahan gave birth to their son, Jack, in August 2007. Brady and Bündchen married in 2009 and later had two children together before their divorce in 2022. Brady's decision to reverse his retirement to play another NFL season was cited as a factor in their separation.
