Independent Women's Voice (IWV), a conservative advocacy group, has launched an AI-generated advertising campaign aimed at young voters, particularly women, to critique the perceived promises versus the potential realities of Democratic Socialist policies. The ad, titled "Take Me Back!", uses a narrative to depict a young woman's disillusionment with socialist slogans.

The video portrays a woman initially drawn to DSA slogans such as "free" healthcare and housing, "Defund the police!", and "People over profit!". Upon waking in a simulated 2050, she encounters a future with extended hospital wait times, empty store shelves, rampant crime, and a lack of personal choice in housing. The ad concludes with her removing a DSA poster from her room.

Heather Higgins, CEO of IWV, stated that socialism is being presented to a new generation with "a very shiny coat of paint." She believes that simply repeating warnings about socialism is ineffective and that a more creative approach is needed. "We need to be more creative, more surprising, and more willing to meet people outside the traditional language of politics," Higgins said.

The campaign eschews direct mentions of socialism or historical lessons, instead focusing on illustrating the gap between policy promises and potential outcomes. According to IWV, the ad is part of a series intended to counter what they describe as radical left policies being repackaged as solutions to economic challenges. The ad is scheduled to appear on social media platforms starting Thursday, with the goal of inoculating young people against what the group views as ideological influences.
