Yair Netanyahu, the oldest son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has been evacuated from the United States following a "significant threat" against him, according to Israel's Shin Bet security agency. The evacuation occurred after the prime minister publicly stated that Iran had attempted to assassinate one of his children.

Netanyahu made the accusation on Israeli television on August 24, though he did not specify which of his two sons was the target of the alleged plot. Shin Bet confirmed the threat to Yair Netanyahu but provided no further details.

Yair Netanyahu relocated to Miami in 2023 and has resided there for much of the ongoing conflicts involving Israel in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran. In July, the Shin Bet extended protection services to both Yair and his brother Avner, as well as their mother, Sara Netanyahu.

This security concern arises amid heightened regional tensions and a backdrop of previous threats against the Netanyahu family.
