Neko Health Draws Celebrity Clientele, Plans Second NYC Location

Neko Health, a body-scanning startup co-founded by Spotify billionaire Daniel Ek, is experiencing a surge in demand for its health assessments, with a waitlist exceeding 50,000 people for its first U.S. clinic in New York City's SoHo neighborhood. The clinic, which opened on September 24, offers a non-invasive, radiation-free health assessment for $499.

High-profile individuals, including model Karlie Kloss, Mets owner Steve Cohen, and Knicks and Rangers executive James Dolan, are among the clientele who have secured appointments. Other notable figures who have visited the Manhattan clinic include Gucci Westman, Scott Sartiano, Ryan Serhant, Thierry Henry, Henrik Lundqvist, restaurateur Danny Meyer, Paris Hilton, and Hannah Bronfman.

The overwhelming response has led to plans for a second New York City location at Brookfield Place in Battery Park, scheduled to open in January 2027. This expansion aims to accommodate the growing number of individuals seeking preventive health screenings.

"We now have more than 50,000 people on our New York City waitlist, just weeks after opening our first US clinic," Neko co-founder and CEO Hjalmar Nilsonne told The Post. "That’s an extraordinary response, and it tells us people want a better way to understand and manage their health."

The company, founded by Ek and Nilsonne in 2018, utilizes proprietary technology to collect data on cardiovascular, metabolic, and other bodily functions during an hour-long visit. The assessment includes a review of results with a physician, with the company emphasizing accessibility and affordability compared to traditional executive health screenings.

Neko Health's first U.S. clinic is an 11,000-square-foot facility located at 300 Lafayette Street. The company also operates clinics in Sweden and the UK. The startup's rapid growth follows a $700 million funding round in July, which reportedly valued the company at nearly $7 billion. Investors include Mark Zuckerberg, Ari Emanuel, Maria Sharapova, Alexis Ohanian, and Jimmy Iovine.
