Nebraska running back Mekhi Nelson was arrested Monday at a Key West resort on allegations of battery involving his pregnant girlfriend. Mikhi Nelson was booked on a misdemeanor battery charge, according to jail records. He is also accused of aggravated battery involving a pregnant woman.
Police responded to a disturbance at the Blue Flamingo Resort around 11:39 a.m. Officers received conflicting accounts from Nelson and the woman.
The woman told authorities that Nelson became angry about the time she was taking to get ready, leading to an argument. She stated that after initially locking him out of the room, she allowed him back in due to concerns about their stay. Once inside, she alleged, Nelson became more agitated, took her phone, and threw it across the room when she attempted to call her mother. She also accused Nelson of ripping her bathing suit and scratching her stomach.
