The No. 1 ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team is set to host the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday night at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Nebraska has held the top spot in the AVCA Coaches Poll for the 128th week in program history, the most of any team in the poll's existence. The team has yet to lose a match this season and ranks among the nation's best in several statistical areas. They are seventh nationally in team hitting percentage at .318 and lead the country by holding opponents to a .081 hitting percentage. The Cornhuskers also rank second in the Big Ten and ninth nationally in blocks per set with 2.89, and their hit margin of +.237 leads the nation. Through 11 matches, Nebraska has accumulated 74 service aces, putting them on pace to set a program record.
Ohio State's 8-3 record includes losses to Bowling Green, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma. Their victories this season have come against Fresno State, Northern Kentucky, Winthrop, Southern Indiana, Youngstown State, and Iowa. The Buckeyes most recently defeated Iowa in a 3-1 decision on September 25.
