Nearly $1 Million in Graded Trading Cards Stolen from FedEx Truck

An estimated $963,000 worth of graded trading cards was stolen from a FedEx truck last week outside the Professional Sports Authenticators (PSA) facility in Santa Ana, California. The stolen packages, numbering over 200, contained a mix of sports and Pokémon cards that had been graded by PSA and were being returned to their owners.

The theft occurred when a suspect broke the lock on the FedEx truck while the driver was away. Among the victims is card collector and YouTuber SKY-B, who reported losing 104 cards, many of which he described as irreplaceable "case hits" or "1-of-1s."

Collectors, the company that owns PSA, confirmed the incident and stated they are cooperating with law enforcement and the shipping carrier. "We are aware of a theft involving a third-party shipping vehicle carrying PSA-graded items," a statement from Collectors read. The company has deactivated the certificates for the stolen items and notified marketplace partners to monitor for them. They are also contacting affected customers directly to arrange compensation based on fair market value.

No arrests have been made, and the cards have not been recovered. This incident follows a reported surge in trading card thefts across California, with other cases involving pepper spray robberies and quick smash-and-grab thefts.
