NC Man Accused of Secretly Filming Partner, Sharing Video in Fraternity Chat

Police have arrested Alexander Michael Evanoff, 19, after he allegedly secretly recorded a woman during a sexual encounter on Sept. 19 and subsequently shared the explicit video with a fraternity group chat, according to court documents.

Evanoff faces charges including one count of disclosing private images and two counts of felony secret peeping. He is accused of using his cellphone to record a "sexually explicit video" of the woman without her consent. Following the encounter, he allegedly sent the recording to a Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity group chat that included 32 members.

During an interview with law enforcement, Evanoff reportedly admitted to recording the sexual act and distributing the video. He also acknowledged that he did not obtain the victim's permission to create or share the recording. When confronted by the woman about the alleged recording, Evanoff reportedly responded "affirmatively" when asked if sending it made him "appear cool" and subsequently apologized.

Evanoff was arrested on Monday and released Tuesday on a $10,000 bond, according to court and jail records. A spokesperson for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte stated that Evanoff is not a student at the university and that his alleged conduct, if true, is "reprehensible."

The university spokesperson added that the alleged actions are not consistent with the university's expectations and will not be tolerated from members of its campus community. Fox News Digital has reached out to the university, Evanoff's attorney, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon for comment.
