How the 2026 NBA Cup Works
All 30 NBA teams are divided into six groups of five. Each team will play the other four teams in its group once. The top team from each group, along with one wild card team from each conference, will advance to the knockout rounds. All games in the tournament, except for the championship final, will count towards the regular-season standings.
The quarterfinals are scheduled to begin on December 4, with games played in various NBA arenas. The championship game is set for December 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, marking the first time the final has been held outside of Las Vegas. Last year, the Knicks won the NBA Cup and went on to win the NBA championship, but no team has yet repeated as Cup champions.
