National Cheeseburger Day 2026: Top Deals and Freebies from Major Chains

National Cheeseburger Day on September 18 is being celebrated by numerous fast-food chains and restaurants across the U.S. with a variety of deals and freebies, offering consumers a chance to enjoy their favorite burgers at a reduced cost.

McDonald's is offering customers a free Double Cheeseburger on September 18 with any purchase of $1 made through the McDonald's app. To qualify for the deal, customers must be opted into the MyMcDonald’s Rewards program. The offer is limited to one per person, excludes delivery orders, and is available at participating locations.

Wendy's is providing a free Baconator with a $20 purchase made through Grubhub. This offer differs from previous years where a 1-cent Bacon Cheeseburger was available with any purchase via their mobile app.

Burger King is extending its National Cheeseburger Day celebration into a week-long event, running from September 14 to September 20. The chain has offered various deals throughout the week, including a free Rodeo Burger with a $3 purchase, buy-one-get-one-free Whopper Jr., a free Croissan’wich with a $3 purchase, a free hamburger with a $3 purchase, and a free Bacon Cheeseburger with a purchase on September 18. Future deals include free chicken nuggets and a free Original Chicken Sandwich.

Dairy Queen's Grill & Chill locations are offering rewards members a free single Original Cheeseburger Signature Stackburger with an app or online order of $1, running from September 14 to September 18. This offer is limited to one per person.

Applebee's is bringing back its classic deal of a classic burger or classic cheeseburger with fries for $8.99 for a single day. Throughout the month, the chain is also featuring its O-M-Cheese Burger and O-M-Cheese-adilla Burger as part of their 2 for $25 menu for dine-in customers.

Red Robin is offering Big Yummm Deals for $9.99, which include an entrée, a bottomless side, and a bottomless drink. Burger choices include the Red’s Double Burger and Haystack Double Burger, with other options available at higher prices.

UNO Pizzeria & Grill is celebrating with four days of deals from September 18 to September 22, featuring five specialty burgers. These include a Lobster Burger, Mike’s Hot Honey Burger, Pepperoni Pizza Burger, Whole Hog Burger, and a Southwest Chicken Burger.

Wagamama has introduced a Teriyaki Wagyumama Beef Slider as part of its new beef slider menu lineup, with pricing options for single, double, or triple slider orders.

Five Guys is running a buy-one-get-one deal on any burger from September 16 up to National Cheeseburger Day. Customers can use the code BOGOBURGER online or through the app for a free burger of equal or lesser value.

Ruby Tuesday is offering a burger or sandwich with fries or tots for $6.99, with choices like the American Smashed Burger, Ruby’s Cheeseburger, or the Impossible Burger.

Denny's is featuring a buy-one-get-one-half-off deal on its Diner QP burger, which includes a 100% all-beef patty with American cheese, diced onions, pickles, mustard, and ketchup on a brioche bun, served with wavy-cut fries.

Whataburger is offering a free Bacon & Cheese Whataburger Jr. with the purchase of medium fries or onion rings. Customers can get up to two per guest and redeem the offer online, in the app, or in-store at participating locations.
