A Nashville high school student was killed in a drive-by shooting late Friday night after attending a football game, and a public figure has significantly increased the reward for information leading to the shooter's capture.

Cameron Frierson, 16, a junior at Hunters Lane High School, was fatally shot while with his younger brother, Chris, after a game at Pearl-Cohn High School. Witnesses reported that shots were fired from a white sedan with tinted windows. The motive for the shooting remains unknown.

Frierson sustained gunshot injuries and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died. His younger brother was not injured. Frierson’s mother, Brittany, stated she believes her son was in the wrong place at the wrong time and that the shooting was not related to personal disputes.

"Cameron was just doing what so many high school students do on a Friday night, enjoying a football game, and in an instant our lives changed forever," Brittany Frierson said. She described her son as a "bright, beaming light" who was hardworking and determined, noting he held two jobs to save for school clothing.

A reward of $5,000 was initially offered by the Uvalde Foundation for Kids. On Monday, Nashville native Clay Travis announced he would add $15,000 to the reward, bringing the total to $20,000 for information that helps apprehend the individual responsible for Frierson's death. Travis, who attended the same football game, posted his pledge on X.

Cameron's father, also named Chris, directly appealed to the shooter, stating, "Turn yourself in, we beg you to turn yourself in."
