Narcan, a medication designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdoses, was reportedly found in the South Carolina apartment where actress Hayden Panettiere died, according to sources cited by TMZ. The device used to administer the medication was located on a mattress within the apartment in Greenville.
It remains unclear if Panettiere received the Narcan or if another individual present at the residence did. 911 dispatch audio obtained by Page Six indicated that the “Nashville” alum died following an apparent overdose. Emergency responders were dispatched to her apartment complex after a call about an "unidentified female" in "cardiac arrest."
Paramedics initiated CPR upon arrival and attempted resuscitation using "advanced cardiac life support" and chest compressions. Panettiere was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m. at the age of 36. She had previously been open about her struggles with opioid addiction and alcohol.
