Nara Smith Announces Plans for Tubal Ligation After Fourth Child

Tradwife influencer Nara Smith, 25, announced on Emma Grede's Aspire podcast that she plans to undergo a tubal ligation, commonly known as getting her "tubes tied," after welcoming her fourth child. Smith and her husband, Lucky Smith, are parents to Rumble Honey, six; Slim Easy, four; Whimsy Lou, two; and Fawnie Golden, born in September.

Smith expressed that while she loves children, her body may not withstand another pregnancy and postpartum recovery, nor the demands of the toddler stage. "We only talk about pregnancy and sometimes postpartum, very barely, but we never talk about what comes after and that is really, really hard," she stated on the podcast. She added that she prefers to experience the challenges of young children simultaneously, aiming for them to be older when she is no longer in the thick of early parenthood. "I'm done," she declared.

This decision echoes a previous sentiment shared in 2024. In an interview with GQ, Lucky Smith told his wife, "Well, we have three. So, you're done." Nara Smith responded, "Yep, I'm done." However, Lucky recalled her earlier desire for six children, to which she replied that she loves being a young mother and wants to integrate her children into her life as she builds it, rather than fitting them in later.

The announcement follows the family's recent experience with their daughter Whimsy Lou's cancer diagnosis. In July, Smith shared with her nearly five million Instagram followers that Whimsy had entered remission after eight months of treatment. She explained that the family debated sharing such a private ordeal but ultimately wanted to raise awareness for other families facing similar battles. "Now that she's finally in remission, it felt like I could find the words to share," Smith said in a video update. The family is now navigating their return to everyday life, with Smith acknowledging that "life will ever feel normal again, but we're trying to navigate this next chapter the best that we can."
