A wildfire, dubbed the Steele Fire, erupted Wednesday in Napa County, California, leading to an evacuation warning as it rapidly spread and threatened at least one structure. The fire began as a small, 10-acre vegetation blaze on Steele Canyon Road before expanding to 70 acres in under an hour, according to CalFire.
An evacuation warning has been issued for the area east of Steele Canyon Road, west of Wragg Canyon Road, and north of Highway 128. The blaze is burning near the Steele Canyon Resort, a popular campground with boat launch facilities on Lake Berryessa. Firefighting efforts are underway, with 110 personnel and air resources deployed to combat the fire.
