Naomi Campbell Reunites With Ex-Fiancé Flavio Briatore at Azerbaijan Grand Prix
The supermodel and the businessman, who share a history spanning over two decades, were seen together at the Baku City Circuit.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell, 56, was seen in good spirits alongside her ex-fiancé Flavio Briatore, 76, at the Grand Prix in Azerbaijan on Thursday.
The pair, who were previously engaged and dated from 1998 until 2002, reunited for a stroll in the Paddock at the Baku City Circuit. Campbell, who was 56 at the time of the event, opted for a stylish ensemble of wide-legged white trousers and a simple black vest top. She accessorized with Chanel slip-ons, sunglasses, and a Chanel phone holder.
Briatore, the former boss of Benetton and 21 years Campbell's senior, wore his F1-sponsored navy polo shirt and orange-rimmed sunglasses. After their split, Briatore commented on their past relationship, stating, "She's great but better as a friend than a girlfriend!"
Despite their past engagement, Campbell and Briatore have remained friendly over the years and have been seen together on holidays. Campbell has previously expressed her independence, telling Marie Claire, "I'm not going to be a trophy. If you expect me to be in the kitchen cooking breakfast in high heels, looking as though I just stepped out of a fashion magazine, it's not going to happen."
This sighting comes amid reports that Campbell has chosen Milan as her new home base, having become enamored with the Italian city during frequent Fashion Week visits. Forbes reported that the model has relocated from London to a property in an exclusive Milanese area. Campbell fueled these rumors by sharing photos from a Milan shoot with photographer German Larkin, using hashtags like #CASA and posting with Milan-based entrepreneur Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio.
While born in Lambeth and often spending time in London, Campbell does not own a permanent home there, typically staying in hotels or renting accommodations. She does, however, own a property in New York City, a condo in Tribeca, after selling a Park Avenue apartment in 2006.
Campbell previously lived in Moscow between 2008 and 2012 while in a relationship with Russian billionaire Vladislav Doronin. During that time, Doronin commissioned architect Zaha Hadid to build a large mansion for Campbell, reportedly costing £109 million. The couple separated in 2012.
In addition to her New York residence, Campbell owns a villa in Malindi, Kenya, which she toured for Architectural Digest in 2021. She purchased the property after holidaying in the seaside town since the 1990s. This villa is part of an eco-resort built by her long-time friend and former Formula One boss, Flavio Briatore.
Campbell is a mother to two children, a daughter born in 2021 and a son born in 2023, both welcomed via surrogate. She has spoken about the profound impact of motherhood, telling The Times, "My babies are everything to me. It's made me fear for the future." She has expressed her commitment to being a single mother, prioritizing her children's needs and presence in their lives.
